Sepulveda Boulevard is a major north-south road stretching from the northern part of the San Fernando Valley, over the Santa Monica Mountains, through West Los Angeles, Culver City, and into Manhattan Beach, where it changes its name to the Pacific Coast Highway. Sepulveda Blvd starts again in Torrance, running west-east through Carson into Long Beach, where it continues as Willow Street. The road passes by UCLA and LAX and is paralleled by the I-405 freeway. Before the construction of I-405, the road was designated as State Route 7, continuing northward into Owens Valley (present-day U.S. 395).
