Built in 1918 by the Atchison, Topeka & Santa Fe Railway [1], the depot features Mission Revival-style architecture and served as the hub of the railroad's operations on the West Coast. It also included a Harvey House restaurant for railroad passengers. In 1992, a government agency acquired the depot, and it served as the terminus for Metrolink lines from Los Angeles and Orange County until the system extended further east to Downtown San Bernardino in 2017. The station is also served by Amtrak long distance trains.

The historic depot building now hosts a free museum showcasing railroad and transportation artifacts. [2]
