The New Children’s Museum commissions contemporary artists to collaborate on unique, one-of-a-kind art installations rather than reinterpreting existing works of art or applying an artistic element to a hands-on children's activity. By working with artists to create pieces with tactile, physical and participatory components, the Museum opens a world of art to children through opportunities to observe and create.

Since re-opening in 2008, the Museum has launched a series of Museum-wide thematic exhibitions featuring original works of art, designed to help our visitors think, play and create. Featuring a wide array of art and inspiring creativity through a range of topics, our previous exhibitions include Childsplay (2008), Animal Art (2010), TRASH (2011) Feast: The Art of Playing With Your Food (2013) and Eureka! which opened in October, 2015.

San Diego Trolley

San Diego Trolley lines serve Downtown San Diego and Convention Center Station is the closest stop.

Coaster and Amtrak

The main Amtrak and Coaster stop in downtown is the Santa Fe Depot Station on Broadway and Kettner. Connection with the Trolley is available at this station.
