Metro Rail E Line (also known as Expo Line) follows a Pacific Electric corridor from Downtown Los Angeles and Santa Monica which discontinued passenger service back in the 1950s.

In 2023, after completion of the Regional Connector project, the E line continues to East LA replacing the Metro Gold Line.

E line trains run run every 10 minutes daily during the day and every 20 minutes at night until about 11:30pm. This line uses Proof of payment fare system.

At 7th Street/Metro Center in downtown, it connects with Metro B Line and D Line. In Downtown LA, it share stations with Metro A Line line. At Expo/Crenshaw, it connects with Metro K Line.
