Blue area - Station platforms

Red area - Requires $2 daily fee or Caltrain monthly parking permit.

A, B - bus plazas

Millbrae Station is the only direct connection between BART and Caltrain systems.

  • California Dr north of Millbrae Ave overpass (parking area owned and managed by Caltrain is located south of the overpass)

Paying the fare

BART ticket machines are located in the elevated concourse and on the northbound Caltrain platform.

Boarding the train

The station is served by:

All trains depart on Platform 3 (one adjacent to Caltrain). However, trains sometimes use Platform 1 or 2 to disembark passengers.

In addition, Antioch - SFO trains depart from Millbrae to SFO in early morning when service begins and depart from SFO to Millbrae after midnight before service ends.

From Millbrae to SFO Station

  1. Take any train to San Bruno Station (BART)
  2. Transfer to Antioch - SFO train on the opposite track to SFO Station

The connection can take anywhere between 1 to 14 minutes depending on time of day.

Bicycle restrictions

Bikes are not allowed on trains departing from this station between 7:03am and 8:33am on weekdays.

Caltrain

Paying the fare

Buy your ticket from Caltrain ticket machines located in the elevated concourse or on the Caltrain platforms.

10-ride ticket validators are located adjacent to all ticket machines.

Boarding the train

On weekdays, most trains (including all Baby Bullets) serve this station.

On weekends, all trains serve this station.

Walk through the overhead concourse to transfer between 342 and other routes.

Megabus

Megabus stops at the bus plaza east of the station (Bay #10). There's no signage indicating Megabus service there.

Parking

Due to multiple ownership of the spaces at Millbrae, there are different fees and policies between the parking on the east and the west side of the station. BART and Caltrain passengers can park on either side of the station.

East side of the station

Before 10am on weekdays, spaces on he 3rd and 4th level of the parking garage are reserved for BART monthly reserved parking permit and BART long term airport parking permit holders. On the surface lot next to Millbrae Ave, some spaces are designed for midday parking and some require a free BART carpool permit. The rest of the spaces are free.

After 10am and all day on weekends, all spaces are free.

West side of the station

Before 10am, parking is available to Caltrain monthly parking permit holders only. After 10am, a daily parking fee of $2 is required for non-permit holders. Pay the daily parking fee at a Caltrain parking permit machine and place the day permit on top of the dashboard.
