About the route

Route 51A runs between Rockridge BART and Fruitvale BART via College Ave, Broadway, Webster/Posey Tube, and Santa Clara Ave. It serves Downtown Oakland and the City of Alameda. Route 851 offers overnight service along the corridor.

Before March 2010, Route 51 provided service between Berkeley and Alameda and had been in operation before AC Transit's formation, under the Key System. Since then, the route has been split into two at Rockridge BART.
