Muni Metro

Muni Metro opens until about midnight. K L and M lines serve this station at the subway platforms. J line stops on street level at Church Street & Market.

For trains underground, riders can purchase Muni tickets or new Clipper cards from Muni ticket machines on the concourse level. Riders with a Muni ticket, Clipper card, contactless debit or credit card, or a mobile device with Apple Pay or Google Pay can pass through any Muni faregate and proceed to the platforms. Riders with other forms of passes or transfers should use the faregate next to the attendant booth and show their pass or transfer to the attendant. Riders must keep proof of payment for the ride, as fare inspectors may ask to see it onboard Muni vehicles or inside the paid area.

The underground station features side platforms. See sign for destination before heading to the platform.

An elevator serving the street and concourse is located near the northwest corner of Market & Church Street, adjacent to the 2120 Market storefront. Elevators serving the concourse and the side platforms (1 each) are located behind the faregates in the paid area.

For line J, pay your fare on the vehicle with cash, or tag your Clipper card, contactless debit or credit card, or mobile device at a Clipper reader inside the vehicle after boarding.
