Golden Gate Transit Route 101

From Transit.Wiki
🚍 Express: Santa Rosa - San Francisco
7 days a week. Holiday service varies.

About the route

Route 101 is an express service between Sonoma County and San Francisco via Highway 101, with stops only in Santa Rosa, Rohnert Park, Cotati, Petaluma, Novato, and San Rafael. Select weekday peak trips operate between Novato and San Francisco. In San Francisco, it runs on Van Ness Avenue through the SF Civic Center. It operates parallel to the Sonoma-Marin Area Rail Transit, serving as an alternative during service disruptions on the rail line.

Route 101 is part of the regional bus network dating back to the opening of the Golden Gate Bridge, operated by Pacific Greyhound. Introduced in 2009 as a weekday service, Route 101 skipped most stops in Marin County and gradually replaced the all-stop service of Route 80.
