Early Bird Express

Early Bird Express is a series of early bus routes to replace BART's 4am weekday service. Due to retrofit of the Transbay Tube, BART pushed the opening time 1 hour later for longer overnight construction window.

Although the service is coordinated and contracted by BART, it is delivered by local bus agencies in the area. The fares for each route would reflect the fare of normal service provided by the agency but at a rate similar to or below BART. Normal bus agency Clipper, age, and disability discounts apply.

Some of the routes are within East Bay, Transbay to Salesforce Transit Center, and within SF or Peninsula to Salesforce Transit Center. Passengers between East Bay and other non-downtown SF locations on the west side of the Bay would have to transfer at Salesforce Transit Center.

BART Early Bird Express Route 713

Millbrae - SFO - SF (operated by SamTrans)

Weekday early morning only.

Fare is $2.25 to SF and $4 out of SF.
  • Leaving Millbrae at 4:01.
  • Leaving SF at 4:55.
At SFO, buses stop at the lower level driveway at Courtyard A and Courtyard G (used by other SamTrans routes). It doesn't stop at other terminals.

Daly City - Salesforce Transit Center (operated by Muni)

Weekday early morning only.

Fare is $2.75.
  • Leaving Daly City at 4:05.
  • Leaving Transbay at 4:45.

At Balboa Park, Northbound buses stop on the south side of Geneva Ave by the BART exit. Southbound buses stop on San Jose at Geneva.

At Glen Park, buses stop at corner of Diamond & Bosworth.

Buses stop on Mission Street at 24th and 16th (same as the 14-Mission bus). It runs non-stop from 16th Street Mission to Transbay.
