SamTrans Route ECR

From Transit.Wiki
🚍 Palo Alto Station - Daly City Station, (Owl) SFO - Daly City
7 days a week. Overnight service between Daly City and SFO.

About the route

Route ECR provides frequent local service on El Camino Real between Daly City BART, near the SF border, and Palo Alto Caltrain, just past the San Mateo County border with Santa Clara County. It connects with neighboring bus systems at these locations. Route ECR has the highest ridership on the SamTrans bus system and is considered a spine, though most riders travel only short distances. End-to-end travel takes about 2 hours.

Route ECR parallels BART in the northern portion and Caltrain in the southern portion, serving as an alternative during service disruptions for either rail system. Overnight trips run between Daly City and SFO, but this route serves SFO only during overnight hours. SamTrans Route 397 covers overnight service on the southern portion of the daytime ECR.
