Embarcadero is one of two BART stations in the city's Financial District. It is within a few blocks from Transbay Terminal and the Ferry Building for additional bus and ferry connections.

InTransit kiosk, located in the underground station concourse, provides free trip planning services and sells tickets/passes for various transit operators. Muni Metro and BART share the same concourse but do not share platforms. They have separate faregates and station agents.

lines serve this station underground. Ticket machines for BART are located in the underground station concourse. Some ticket types are sold at the Transit Store, also on the concourse level. Muni Fast Pass is accepted for rides anywhere between this station and Balboa Park Station.

This station features center platforms.

Platform 1: to Daly City, to Millbrae, to SFO

Platform 2: to East Bay.

To transfer to Muni Metro, exit the BART faregates on the concourse and then enter Muni faregates. Embarcadero is a designated transfer point to Muni Metro toward AT&T Park and beyond. During Giants homegames, Muni sells tickets at tables inside BART paid area.

Weekdays approximately 7:05 to 8:50 am, bikes are allowed in this station only for trips to the East Bay. On weekdays approximately 4:25 to 6:30 pm, bicycles are not allowed to board at this station and bicyclists from the East Bay must exit at this station.

J K L M N T S lines serve this station underground. Muni Metro opens until about 1:00am.

Cash fare riders need to buy a ticket from any Muni ticket machine on the concourse level. All riders need to have a valid ticket, transfer, Clipper Card, or pass to get through the Muni faregates.

Historic Streetcar

F-Market & Wharves streetcars stop along Market St. However, some streetcar only operate between the Ferry Building and Fisherman's Wharf and thus do not stop on Market St. The Ferry Building is a short walk from this station.

Streetcars to Fisherman's Wharf may get crowded by the time they arrive at Embarcadero Station. Consider boarding at a stop further south on Market Street.

Cable car

California Cable Car terminal is located on California St and Drumm St. Pay the Cable Car fare onboard.

A bike station is available at the underground station concourse. It is operated by Alameda Bicycle, BikeLink card is required and it charges a small hourly fee.

Taxis are available at the Embarcadero Hyatt Hotel at the street level, east end of the station, just by the cable car turn around.
