7 days a week. Holiday service varies.

About the route

The 7 Haight/Noriega provides local service between Ocean Beach and Downtown SF via Noriega, 22nd/23rd Ave, Lincoln Way, Haight, and Market Street. It runs along the southern edge of Golden Gate Park in its eastern half and serves the Haight-Ashbury and Civic Center. Overnight service along Haight Street is provided by the N-Owl bus.

Before April 2015, the current route had a different number: 71. Established in the early 1950s, the 71 was an addition to the 7 trolley bus route, which ran only as far west as Stanyan from 1948 to 2009. Before 1948, the 7 was a streetcar route running from Ocean Beach to the the Ferry Building via Lincoln, Haight, and Market. Prior to the streetcars, Haight Street had cable car service to the Ferry Building from 1883 until the 1906 earthquake.
