Harlem/Lake - Downtown Chicago - Ashland/63rd, Cottage Grove
7 days a week. Holiday service varies.

About the route

CTA's 'L' Green Line runs from Downtown Oak Park, through Downtown Chicago via the Loop, and continue to the south side of Chicago at 63rd Street with two branches. The Green Line operates on an older, fully elevated alignment over Lake Street and near State Street, first constructed in the late 19th century.

For stations north of Garfield, the Green Line runs every 7-8 minutes on weekdays during peak hours, every 10 minutes midday, and every 15 minutes in the evening. On weekends, it runs every 10-12 minutes. Service on the southern branches (to Ashland/63rd and Cottage Grove) is half as frequent as on the main line, with trains from the north alternating between the branches.
