About the route
Route 292 provides local bus service between Downtown SF and San Mateo via Bayshore Blvd, SFO, and Delaware Street. Besides the airport terminals, it serves cargo facilities, hotels, and other airport-related businesses located north and south of the terminals. This route does not provide rides within San Francisco: northbound is drop-off only, and southbound is pick-up only. It runs on Mission Street (between 1st St and 9th St) in Downtown SF.
Part of Route 292 began operating as a Pacific Greyhound route between San Francisco and San Jose before SamTrans took over operations in the 1970s.
