City: San Francisco
The building open with bus operation on street level. Service on bus deck is suspended until sometime in August. In the meantime, services are being operated out of the Temporary Transbay Terminal a block away.
Salesforce Transit Center is a multi-level station in Downtown San Francisco, replacing the old Transbay Terminal. It currently serves local and regional buses on the street level and the 3rd floor bus deck. The roof of the transit center features a park with stage and playground. Adjacent to the transit center is the Salesforce Tower, which is the tallest building in the western United States.
The center can be accessed from Beale, Fremont, and 1st streets between Mission and Howard. The Grand Hall is located next to the Salesforce Tower. The center is located about 1 block away from Market Street and the BART/Muni Metro Embarcadero Station, and 3 blocks away from the Ferry Building.
When the 2nd phase is complete, it would also serve as a new underground terminal for Caltrain and California High Speed Rail.
